Supporting small business and brewery in Quesnel

QUESNEL – Quesnel welcomed the beginning of Small Business Month and Craft Beer Month by celebrating the success of the Barkerville Brewing Company with MLA for Cariboo-North Coralee Oakes.

“This month is a great opportunity for us to recognize the importance of small business to our communities and to our provincial economy,” MLA Oakes said. “Our government is committed to sustaining an environment where small businesses can thrive, so that B.C. remains the best province in the country to live, work and run a business.”

“I’m excited to be able to recognize both Small Business Month and Craft Beer Month here at the Barkerville Brewing Company, a successful homegrown Quesnel small business,” MLA Oakes said. “Craft brewers are an important component of our small business network, and British Columbia’s culture of top quality craft beers.”

“We are proud to be the Cariboo’s craft brewery, and are looking forward to celebrating craft beer month with the launch of a new fresh-hopped brew made with hops sourced right here in Quesnel,” said Barkerville Brewing Co.’s General Manager, Justine Pelletier-Wittingham. “It’s a great time and place to be a craft brewery and a small business.”

Small Business Month offers small business owners and operators the opportunity to connect with and learn from each other, and to tap into information about government programs and resources that are available to them. Each year, this month is marked by numerous celebrations of business success stories throughout the province.
